Apple Watch is 5, This weeks TechNews 26th April 2020.

Another week has gone by with us in isolation fighting the invisible killer of COVID-19, lets have a look at whats happened this week in tech.

Apple Watch is 5 years old This week marked 5 years of the Apple Watch which was released on the 25th of April 2015. Since it was released the Apple Watch has taken of and has become just as important as the iPod was to Apple. It’s personally one of my favourite Apple products. (Although having said that I don’t think I could ever put into an order of what my favourite Apple products are) The Apple Watch was the first major product launch for Tim Cook when he took over CEO as Apple and whilst a lot of people give him a lot of slick saying that Apple doesn’t innovate anymore I think the Apple Watch worked off for him. Anyway, The Apple Watch has gone through 6 generations of devices (Series 1 & 2 were released at the same time in 2016.) I’ve currently got the Series 4 Apple Watch (Having previously owned the Series 1) which included a major redesign of the original with its edge to edge display making the screen bigger and yet the device the same size. On 9to5Mac there is a pretty cool article I think is worth checking out here where an original Apple Watch designer talks about some of the history on the watch faces and features. Apple Music comes to some Samsung TV’s[2] This week Apple released an App for Samsung Tv’s older then 2018 which lets you use Apple Music on the TV. This means now people can use Apple TV+ and Apple Music more then ever with Apple TV+ being available on several smart Tv’s already. I’m sure it won’t be long till we see Apple Music on more smart devices. It’s great to see Apple expanding their services so much I’m sure it will see to more subscribers to their services. There isn’t much more news this week with the end of April being this week I’ll be writing my April Apple Watch Fitness Activity Journal this week so keep an eye out for that as it certainly will be different this week with the affects of COVID-19 around the world. Stay Home, Keep safe and thanks for reading.
