Section 1.0 -  Definitions 

 

What is a privacy policy?

 

A privacy policy is a statement which explains the ways that a party gathers, uses and stores data on an employee, client or customer. 

 

What is personal data? 

 

Personal data could be any data about you as an individual. This includes your name, your address, date of birth, contact details, photos or ethnicity. 

 

What are cookies? 

 

Cookies are small files on an individual’s computer / device that tracks and store information about the user’s interactions or usage of a website. An example of a cookie and how they are used is if you go on a new website and a pop up comes up asking the user to join a subscription. If a user then clicks “Never ask again” a cookie would be stored on the computer / device so that when the user next goes to the website again the website would check the cookies on the Computer / device and know not to display the Pop up again. 

 

 

 

Section 1.5 - What is this Privacy policy for? 

 

This privacy policy is across my two domain sites. These are [www.kylewilkinsononline.com] and [www.kylewilkinsonblog.com] and states the information stored about the user, the way the website process data and the way we’re protecting your data. 

 

Section 2.0 – Cookies

 

This website uses cookies to make the users experience as awesome as possible. Cookies are also used By Google Analytics on this website (For more information on google analytics read section 2.2) you can opt out of Google Analytics Cookies by clicking this link [https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout]

 

This website is created using Wix, Wix also use cookies to store information on your computer / device to enhance the user experience for the website.  An example of a cookie used by Wix is when a new user visits the site for the first time the website checks that it is okay to use cookies on the website via a pop up. When loading the website, the website checks for a cookie on the computer / device to see if the user has been on the website before letting it decide to show the pop up or not. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Section 2.1 – Email Updates and using “Contact me” or the “Want to know more” functions.

 

This website offers a newsletter so that users can stay updated about new pages or other relevant information about the website. This website also has to Contact forms these vary but are very similar to each other. These contact forms are used when a user wishes for further information about a product or has general enquiry. 

 

For the email updates and contact forms to work we have to hold some personal information about the user. Below displays the information held and why we need it. 

 

Your name – We require your name when you use the contact forms so we know who we’re replying too. 

 

Your Email – We require your email when using contact forms because this gives us an address to reply to. Your email is also used when you subscribe to my newsletter your email address is then used to make sure you keep updated via the newsletter.

 

The above is the only personal data we hold about a user of the website. The data is kept on a secure database which can only be accessed by myself (Kyle Wilkinson). 

 

As part of GDPR you can ask for any of your personal data to be deleted at any time via the email at the bottom of the document or via the “contact me” form on the website. 

 

The data is deleted automatically however when a request to stop subscribing to the newsletter. For contact me forms the data will be deleted 10 days after the initial contact or 10 days after the most recent contact after that.  

 

Section 2.1A - As of Monday the 8th of February 2021 the site no longer includes anyway of the user leaving feedback. This includes your name, your email address and any other personal information. Any other personal information that was already existing will have been deleted within 14 working days from the 8th of February 2021.

 

Section 2.2 – Google Analytics 

 

This website uses Google Analytics [GA] to collect information on how you [Users] use this website. We do this to improve the website, see what pages (content) is popular and what’s not. This helps me learn what I need to work on developing on the website. GA Stores information like what pages you visit; how long you visit the pages; how you got to the site [For example via a link on google] and what you click on the website. GA does not store any personal information and GA does not share any of this data and neither do we. GA uses Cookies to gather this data. 

 

Section 2.3 – Google AdSense 

 

In order to generate some revenue, the site on both domains uses Google Ads (AdSense) to produce income. Google Ads is a service provided by Google. 

Google and its partners may use Cookies produce ads relevant to you. This could be across Kyle Wilkinson Online, Kyle Wilkinson Blog as well as other external sites across the internet that also use Google Ads.

Section 3.0 – Shortened links in Social media & Social Media Platforms on the website.

 

The website can be shared by anyone or by using social media. Some social media websites shorten links by default. We advise that users are taking caution when clicking these links and we are not responsible should the user accidently come across spam, hacking or fraud from clicking any shortened links via any social media.

 

We may use short links via social media to Share or advertise the website. We do this to encourage visits to the website or to share new website content. 

 

The website may have social media sharing buttons or previews from social media platforms. We advise users to take extra care [Caution] when using these platforms that are placed on this website. Please note that the social media platform may save your request to like a certain page or share a page through the social media platform which you use(d). Using social media platforms on the website is purely the user’s discretion but we advise you take care.

 

Users can unsubscribe at any time from the newsletter also via the link at the bottom of every newsletter. 

 

Section 3.1 – External Links

 

Time is taken to ensure that every link is safe and relevant to what was clicked. Despite the time taken to ensure this user are advised to take caution before clicking any external links mentioned on the website. Despite the best efforts taken we cannot guarantee the safety of any externally linked website and users are clicking at their own risk.

 

Section 3.2 – Downloads 

 

On the website, there may be several downloads which you can download. Extra care has gone into making sure every download is secure and safe despite this however we do advise users take extra care when downloading any data or file to their computer / device and that users do so at their own risk. 

 

Section 4.0 – How can I get my personal information or cookies deleted?

To delete any personal information which we hold about you use the “contact me” form or you can email me using the email in section 4.1. When a request is made all personal data will be deleted within 12 hours of the request being made.
