iOS 13.5 Makes it easier to unlock
The latest developer beta of iOS 13.5 came out this week and it includes a cool feature making it easier to unlock your phone whilst wearing a facemask. With the current epidemic around the globe more people are wearing facemasks as they want to protect themselves anyway, they can. However, FaceID on your iPhone sometimes might not unlock your phone because half your face is covered.
Now when you swipe up the keypad automatically, Kind of similar to how it used to be back in the slide to unlock days. This week Apple also updated their COVID-19 Screening App which unfortunately isn’t available in the UK but does look like a useful app from Apple. [1]
In other iOS 13.5 News there is a new feature which lets you turn off that pesky thing that moves the face zooming around on FaceTime.
Apple announced their Q2 Fiscal results
This week Apple announced their results for the fiscal quarter 2 [2] which ended on March 28th, 2020. They adjusted their projections for their results in the middle of the quarter because of the impact of the pandemic.
Despite the pandemic Apple is proud to say that they grew their results for the second quarter. Including an all-time high of $13.3 Billion for services. Which doesn’t surprise me at all with Apples continuing investments in Services and with an all-time high of services available.
They didn’t announce what their projections are for Quarter 3 which is expected but we are expecting to see announcements about iOS 14 this quarter which will be exciting.
