The AirPods Pro

On Monday Apple announced the third generation Airpods called the Airpods Pro. The AirPods Pro have been rumoured about for a while now and just like we all expected they Active noise cancellation. Meaning now you can go on a plane and not hear all the screaming kids.

The Airpods Pro have a more interesting all new design to the original Airpods design. Going for a look similar to the old Apple earbuds you used to see. The earbuds are customisable meaning you no longer will have people saying that the earbuds keep falling out of there ear. The AirPods Pro come with either small, medium or large earbuds made of silicone. The AirPods Pro are water and sweat resistant with an IPX4 rating meaning they have protection from splashed water.

AirPods Pro come with a “Transparency Mode” which Apple say allows the user to hear the environment around them whilst still being able to enjoy their music. The smart software can balance everything between so that you hear the right amount of noise.

Switching between “Active Noise Cancellation”, “Transparency mode” or simply just having it off and listening to music normally is easy and all done in the control centre the same way that you would turn True Tone or Night Shift on or off.

Inside the new Airpods Pro is Apples H1 chip, this chip controls how the noise cancellation works all the way to Hey Siri requests. Whilst having all these major improvements the Airpods Pro have the same 5-hour battery life that the second generation AirPods have and the wireless charging case is standard with the AirPods Pro.

Would I buy one?

Whilst I do think the AirPods are impressive (And the sales show). No, I won’t be buying a pair. This is because I do have the original AirPods and the only time I really use them is when I go for a run or rarely at work. Not just that but over the two years I’ve had them they have been replaced once for free by Apple (Which was nice of them) because the sound quality has worsened overtime.

If you do go for a run frequently and use an Apple watch I do 100% recommended the AirPods. As the joy of running without wires much better.

In other news, Apple TV+ is out this Friday and I look forward to watching some of the new programs available. I’m starting with The morning show followed by Ghostwriter. I’ll be writing about Apple TV sometime next week.

Until next time
