iOS 16:
We got a brand-new Lock screen which is the most customisable yet and easy too. To customise your lock screen, it’s similar to how Apple Watch users have been customising there watch faces for years.
So, what’s new with your lock-screen?
Now you can customise the font of the clock to what you like (Along with the date) and you can now add some pretty cool widgets to your lock screen which look very similar to the Apple Watch complications. Notifications are a little different again and now will sit at the bottom. With Focus that came out last year it’s had updates with the wallpaper changing depending on which focus your using.
iMessage has had some cool quick 3 updates:
1. Unsend messages
2. Easily swipe and mark a message as unread
3. Edit a message after you’ve sent it
A ton of changes to Parental controls with new features like a Family health check-up like the health check-up in the health app.
There’s an all new CarPlay which if you get a new new car will look simply amazing and with CarPlay there’s maps. Now you can set-up multiple points along a route.
There’s a lot newer changes coming to iOS 16 which I’ll be looking at later this week.
WatchOS 9
There’s 4 new watch faces to go with this new update and some existing ones have had some cool new updates.
In my opinion we’ve had the biggest update to the workout’s app EVER. There is just too much to cover in this quick update. I’m excited to go and give them a try and I’ll cover in it much more detail in a blog post this week.
Here’s a screenshot from Apple’s website [1]
We’ve also now got a cool new App which does of course sync with the health app on your iPhone for tracking medications and will even tell you if you shouldn’t be mixing a certain something with something else. In terms of sleeping now you can view the 4 stages of your sleep in the Sleep / health app.
AFib history is now available to view but also will tell you things that could be making it worse in your lifestyle.
There are also some cool productivity & accessibility updates but altogether this has got to be the biggest load of updates for WatchOS in a long time, I can’t wait to try it out!
macOS Ventura
New mail features – Like being able to undo send
Spotlight is even smarter
Shared tab groups in safari are pretty cool
Stage manager, a new feature for people like me who have a million things open at once. By the looks of it its designed to make productivity even easier and more organised.
Will be looking at MacOS Ventura in a lot more detail later this week!
Hardware
We did get a new M2 processor which is the next generation of Apple Silicon which also meant we got a new MacBook Air (WITH MAGSAFE) and a new MacBook Pro.
Join me this week in looking at the best of the new operating systems across Apple, Online & on YouTube
