Twitter Edit Button & More // TechNews Week ending 5th July.

This week the UK basically left lockdown with pubs reopening. This week I haven’t written any posts due to writing 3 WWDC related posts last week. If you haven’t read any of them yet check them out at the bottom of this page.

iOS 14 Catching Apps out in the act! [1]

iOS 14 developer beta has been out for almost two weeks now and one of the many new features to it involves Apples commitment to privacy. Now when you past text into an app a little notification will pop up at the top of the screen to tell you that the App has pasted from your clip board.

Well this new feature has been catching many apps in the act. Some of these Apps include LinkedIn, TikTok and popular weather app AccuWeather. All these companies are saying that this is a bug and shouldn’t happen. My question is, Is it really a bug? (I doubt it) and how long has this bug been going on for?

iPhone 12 Might not come with a charger? [2]

This week Apple have been sending out surveys to select users asking them What they did with their iPhone charger that came with their iPhone. There’s been a lot of rumours about how the iPhone 12 may not come with a charger or headphones.

My thoughts on this are that YES your iPhone should come with a new charger, What if you’re a new iPhone user for example but NO. Your new iPhone shouldn’t come with a new set of headphones. Must users will already have a pair of headphones for example I have a pair of AirPods plus to sets of Apple Lightning headphones so I really wouldn’t need another pair. It would also be much better for the environment.

Twitter Edit button on the way?

No, I doubt it… This week Twitter teased us with this tweet:

Let’s be honest though there is a lot of people who won’t wear a mask which is why it is so unlikely to happen. I don’t think we should get an edit button anyway. Imagine you Retweet a Tweet with a comment and the original tweet gets edited to something completely different.

Thanks for reading,

Kyle Wilkinson
